Fifty-two Ton Climax Christmas Card
Clear Lake Lumber Company, Climax No. 4 was built in 1907. Photographer Kinsey claimed that the train in this scene carried 43,462 feet of logs, all from a single tree that measured 12 feet in diameter at the butt.
The Climax locmotive was used in the timber industry in the early 1900s, especially along the West Coast.
This locomotive was sold sometime in the 1920s to the West Fork Logging Co. of Tacoma, Washington which logged north of Bremerton. Clear Lake Lumber Co. logged south of the Skagit River, near Sedro Wolley, Washington.
