Winter Stream Art Print
A bull elk saw movement to his right … at a glance he knew it was one of the many wild creatures of the forests and streams - an otter … its tracks in the snow to the right in this scene. The bull elk shown here is making a hurried trip through a Douglas fir grove to an aspen forest nearby. Elk only ask a few fundamental things of the land: nutritious and varied forage, perennial water, and cover thick enough to hide them from predators and shelter them from the weather. The western quaking aspen provides all of these basics. The quaking aspen is the most widespread hardwood tree native to North America.
