Mt. Jefferson Valley Note Card

Mount Jefferson is the second highest peak in Oregon at 10,495 feet (Mount Hood being the highest at 11,237). It was seen by Lewis and Clark on Sunday, March 30, 1806 and was named by them in honor of Thomas Jefferson, President of the United States.

Mount Jefferson, by any route, is considered by some mountaineers to be the most difficult of the Oregon peaks to climb.
