Trail To Mt. Jefferson Art Print

The Whitewater Trail shown here, leads to Oregon's second highest mountain (10,495'). Mt. Jefferson was named by explorers Lewis and Clark on Sunday, March 30, 1806 in honor of President Thomas Jefferson.

This mountain is in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Area which calls attention to one of the more sensitive subjects in the west which is timber utilization and wilderness allocation.

Good stewardship of our country's natural resources is the responsibility of highly trained foresters and other technical people. Our forests and forest lands need to be managed wisely to the best utilization for all our people; where man and wildlife can live in harmony.
