Forest Management Art Print
This scene shows a logging operation east of Cottage Grove, Oregon, in the rugged mountains of the Cascades near the Bohemia Gold Mines.
This recent c1earcut was in an area of old-growth Douglas Fir trees. Since this operation, National Forest harvesting has been severely curtailed by the government due to the Endangered Species Act, in protecting the Northern Spotted Owl.
In the meantime, this c1earcut has been replanted and trees continue to grow. These mountains are covered with a vibrant, new forest of Douglas Fir, West Coast Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, and various other species.
