Cutting Firewood, Art Print
The use of wood for heating and cooking has long been a source of energy in our homes. From nearly all parts of our great country the practice of picking up our axe, crosscut saw or chain saw and going out in the woods to cut our supply of firewood is an annual event. At one time, wood and coal were used almost exclusively for heating and cooking. This scene happened to take place in Minnesota in those early years.
Care of our forests should be a continuing challenge for the citizens of our country; protecting our country's renewable resource.
(Thanks to Mr. Jim Claypool, Portland, Oregon, for information in rendering this oil painting.)
