Forest Ecology Art Print

This scene shows an Oregon forest in the Mount Jefferson area with a black bear sow seeking food in the form of termites and grub worms while her twin cubs look on. The bear, as well as other forest inhabitants, play important roles in the forests.

"Ecology" (a branch of biology dealing with relations between organisms and their environment) as depicted in this oil painting, allows the viewer to discover how it takes place, according to their own imagination and skills. The professional forester could be called an "ecological niche" (a position that a creature occupies in relation to its environment… Webster). The professional forester is one who is an expert in forestry, having responsibility for the stewardship of the forest in that individual's care.

Forestry and its ecology is the subject of this painting. Our professional foresters are educated at many outstanding schools. Graduates from forestry schools have taken positions in private industry, consulting, state and national forest systems, research, and education.
