This scene took place near Ocilla, Georgia in 1903.
"Loblolly" is one of the "southern Yellow Pine" group. Lumber and plywood made from this specie is used extensively throughout the South and East. The name is taken from the terrain in which it grows best - moist areas called "Loblollies."
The locomotive shown here is an American Four Forty, built by McKay and Aldus in about 1868.
