Nesting Spot - Giclee, 18" x 24", Framed
The Canadian Goose is the most widespread goose; majestic in flight: distinctive in its markings, with its white “chin strap.” They are a family oriented bird, generally mating for life. Their nesting spots are along streams, marshy areas, on top of muskrat houses, on islets, along cliffs, and occasionally on an old springboard stump. This site is a pond from an abandoned mill west of Noti, Oregon where a family of geese have nested for several years.

Topping a Spar Tree - Gilcee, 20" x 30", Framed
A high climber is shown topping a spar tree at 175 feet. A portion of the majestic Mt. Rainier forms a fitting backdrop for this scene which took place in about 1940. When it was determined that these trees were ready for harvest fallers and buckers moved in, dropped and bucked marketable trees, except for a preselected spar tree, then the high-climber performed his dangerous work.

Trail to Mt. Jefferson, Giclee, 18" x 24", Framed
The Whitewater Trail, shown here, leads to Oregon’s second highest mountain (10,495’). Mt. Jefferson was named by explorers Lewis and Clark on Sunday, March 30, 1806, in honor of President Jefferson. This mountain is in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Area which calls attention to one if the more sensitive subjects in the west which is timber utilization and wilderness allocation. Good stewardship of our country’s natural resources is the responsibility of highly trained foresters and other technical people. Our forests need to be managed wisely to best utilize every resource.
